You've convinced me - I'll be ...Great post. You've convinced me - I'll be buying the book.<br /><br />I think the first major lesson applies to much more than startups. You can't find out about customers from inside your building, and you can find out about your organization from inside the organization. I am continuously coaching people to get out and see what is really going on. Tom Peters called the Management By Walking Around - MBWA. But you still need a framework to be able to observe and process what you are seeing and hearing. If I get sales I will expand on the site. This is the Ready, Fire, Aim approach.<BR/><BR/>At the end of the day it's about finding and proving a market (ie paying customers). I've never wanted to get VC and give away half my company, which has forced me to do things in an incredibly frugal and creative way.
